Are you passionate about leadership/talent development and helping professionals reach their full potential? Join our team as a Development Center Facilitator on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois and play a critical role in shaping the future leaders of a global law firm.
In this position, you will be instrumental in the firm’s succession planning process. You’ll organize and facilitate multiple Development Center sessions throughout the year designed to assess associates’ readiness for partnership, identify strengths and areas for growth, and create actionable development plans.
Job Responsibilities
- Facilitate all aspects of the Development Center, including setup, execution, and closing.
- Guide activities that help identify participants’ leadership strengths and development opportunities.
- Create meaningful, actionable development plans for participants.
- Provide coaching and support to participants throughout the program.
- Partner with senior leaders and facilitators to analyze findings and report on leadership skill gaps.
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in organizational development, leadership development, or talent management.
- Proven experience facilitating Development or Assessment Centers.
- Demonstrated ability to create action plans based on data and insights.
- Experience in a law firm setting is highly desirable.
- Strong group facilitation and process skills (e.g., asking questions, managing dynamics).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable plans.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with HR software is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Start Date: Tentative schedule begins in the March-April timeframe; Minimum one-year contract
Location: Facilitators MUST reside in Chicago for this onsite role
Schedule/ Session Duration: Each session lasts 3–4 days onsite, with multiple sessions per year
Compensation: This is a 1099 contract opportunity. Candidates will receive a daily rate commensurate with experience.
